The Pemi river provides a protected buffer at South Peak Resort’s west border. The Pemi originates in Franconia Notch State Park, passed by South peak Resort and Loon Mountain to the Winnipesaukee River in Franklin.


Pemigewasset River fishing in New Hampshire is excellent, with an abundance of trout, bass, and Atlantic salmon, stocked yearly by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. As most of the river’s corridor is undeveloped wilderness, its natural resources are exceptionally high quality.

Swimming & PWC (Personal Water Craft)
Swimming, canoeing, tubing, whitewater rafting, and kayaking are popular boating activities on the Pemigewasset River. With access provided by the town of Lincoln and an entrance to the Riverfront Condominium complex, the Lady’s Bathtub is a brilliant green pool with large sloping rocks large enough to do some swimming.

A 2.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail along the Pemi River and used for hiking, running, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, and is accessible year-round. This route follows a section of road at South Peak Resort before breaking off onto and up Loon Mountain., follows a number of ski runs, and then descends back down to the road.
