Loon Mountain – Conveniently located in South Peak’s backyard, Loon’s impressive numbers tell the story: 2,100-foot vertical drop, 370 skiable acres, 61 trails, 11 lifts, eight glades, and three peaks. An impressive 99% snowmaking coverage on trails and 322 acres of snowmaking in total. Loon has also garnered coveted “Top” honors from Ski Magazine, Freeskier Magazine, and Transworld Snowboarding. Known as one of New England’s most accessible mountains, the recently announced expansion, Flight Path: 2030, promises to make Loon New England’s premier mountain destination.

Bretton Woods – A 36-minute ride from South Peak and you will find yourself at New Hampshire’s largest ski area with 464 acres of skiing and snowboarding on 63 trails, 35 glades, ten lifts (including an 8-passenger gondola, four high-speed quads), four terrain parks and snowmaking on 92% of trails. Yes, there is a candy store at the top and plenty for families to do, having been named in the Top 5 in the East for family programs.

Cannon Mountain – Just 10 miles from Lincoln in Franconia Notch State Park and steeped with a rich history, Cannon features New Hampshire’s only aerial tram, the largest vertical drop (2,330 feet), 285 skiable acres on two peaks, 97 trails, and glades, 11 lifts, and 192 acres of snowmaking. Cannon features challenging but rewarding terrain for hardcore skiers and boarders with few other activities off the mountain.

Mountain Biking

South Peak and Loon Mountain Resorts have a variety of terrain to mountain bike or hike through the blaze of color. Don’t get too distracted by the color and fall off your bike! Loon’s 9 miles of downhill mountain bike trails provide a satisfying experience for both beginners and seasoned riders with various freeride, technical, and cross-country trails.

J. E. Henry Trail
1-mile family-friendly trail begins at the entrance of South Peak Resort and runs adjacent to the Pemi river. This leisurely route is lined with beautiful wildflowers and provides access to the Pemi River. Dog friendly on leash.

South Peak Escape Route
2.3 mile moderately challenging loop trail great for walking, hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing, and is open year-round.

East Ridge Trail
2.3 Mile circular trail near Lincoln, New Hampshire. Generally considered an easy route.

Serendipity Loop Trail
This easy 2.3 Mile loop trail near Lincoln, NH, is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking.
